Currently I'm getting some odds and ends ready for the actual packing of my suitcase in the morning. One would assume that, being my first overseas trip, I would have completed all such preparation... but no, unfortunately not. Though It's pretty much ready to shove in the suitcase, so I'm being optimistic about time frames at the moment!
I have to say, one of the most exciting things for me is just that God's really here in this trip, it seems everyone on the team has something significant that they want to do there or that they want to see happen in faith... as they step in faith actually going to another continent. For me, I'm really looking forward to visiting some local churches in Nairobi, in the local communities and in the slums. It seems like it's going to be an amazing opportunity to see people who live with almost nothing still praising God and giving thanks and still dedicating their lives to him, compared to my own sometimes "comfortable" faith. Really, whatever it may be that we are impacted by on this trip, It seems rather sure that it will be an amazing eye-opening experience and something I don't think I'm ready for in the slightest... which is probably a good thing!
